Whether it’s a small trail by your home or a 3,500-hectare area of Canada’s Capital Greenbelt, you can travel the trails in Orléans no matter your desired intensity level.
Avalon Lakeridge
Avalon’s own Lakeridge Trail, which is located just off of Tenth Line on Frank Cauley Way, is a 1.4-kilometre loop around the pond within the community. The gravel path is stroller-friendly, making it the perfect stop for a walk with the whole family any time of day. Explore nature and enjoy some light bird watching along the trail.
Mer Bleue Conservation Area
Just a 20-minute drive from Avalon, you can spend the day at Mer Bleue Conservation Area without ever getting bored. With nearly 20 kilometres of trails to explore – by foot, cross-country ski, or snowshoe – you can choose different stretches to explore. With so many different trails to explore, you can return time after time and discover something new. If you are heading to the conservation area, be sure to follow the principles of outdoor ethics as outlined by the National Capital Commission. You can even bring your dog to most trails at Mer Bleue.
