What’s Close to Avalon West, Orléans?
Location, location, location. When you’re looking for the perfect new home, location is a primary consideration. What’s close to the community? Is there nature nearby? Are there stores, restaurants and schools? What about parks and recreational facilities?
These are some of the questions you ask when trying to choose a place to live. Luckily, in our new Avalon West community, you’re just steps away from all the amenities of Orléans – and the established features of our other master-planned Avalon communities. Here’s a look at what’s close by.

Avalon West is situated at 353 Gerry Lalonde Drive, with Ouellette Park conveniently kitty-cornered from the community. Your kids will love the play structure, swings and splash pad during the summer, while you enjoy the shaded area or walking along the pathways. During the winter, the park transforms into a full size ice rink for skating or a pick-up game of hockey. For more parks, stop by our other nearby Avalon communities – each of which are within walking distance of Avalon West.
Avalon Encore is to the south, where you’ll find Don Boudria Park and Henri-Rocque Park. Don Boudria features a baseball diamond, a multi-purpose court, a gazebo, games tables and an enclosed dog park – Henri-Rocque offers open space for a picnic or tossing the frisbee, a playground, splash pad and a basketball court.
Across Tenth Line Road to the east is Avalon Aquaview. There you’ll find Aquaview Park, complete with a community centre, play structures and a basketball court – plans are in place to bring another park to the community in the near future, too. As well, Aquaview features a pristine pond surrounded by multi-use pathways, perfect for biking, jogging and walking.
There are recreational facilities, conservation areas and nature trails close to Avalon West, as well. This includes:

For cultural experiences and entertainment, the Shenkman Arts Centre and the Landmark movie theatre are less than 15-minutes away. And service centres like banks and vehicle mechanics, dental clinics, the Orléans Health Hub and the Ottawa Public Library are easily accessible.
