The 23-year legacy of Minto Communities and CHEO
The partnership between Minto Communities Ottawa and the CHEO Foundation represents hope. For 23 years, we’ve designed and built the Minto Dream Home for CHEO – grand prize for the Dream of a Lifetime Lottery. A chance to give back
"Every ticket purchase has a positive impact on the lives of the children, youth and families that rely on CHEO for care and support," said CHEO Foundation president and CEO, Steve Read, when CTV News Ottawa announced the winner of last year’s home.
Bringing people together. That’s the driving force behind the Minto Dream Home and the CHEO Dream of a Lifetime Lottery. And we all have a role to play, from trade partners and media relations to the entire community. It’s a full team effort with a singular goal: give CHEO children and their families hope for a brighter future.
The “Minto Way” wall mural symbolizes togetherness and was donated to CHEO in 2020 for everything the hospital does for our community. The mural is located in one of the main hallways within CHEO and serves to lighten the day of those who see it.

Once again, the home features remarkable interior design by Tanya Collins, who describes the home as “modern equestrian.” She was guided by upscale equestrian culture, embracing strong, warm colours and unique design elements reflective of enduring fashion and sophisticated style.
It’s a design perfect for Mahogany, Manotick – the home of past Minto Dream Homes like 2020’s Bohemian and 2021’s Caraway. The Dream of a Lifetime Lottery launches September 6, with tours of the Equestrian beginning on the same day. The Lottery is a key contributor to the CHEO Foundation, making it possible for CHEO to continue providing life-changing care to those who need it most.
