Exploring the Whitby Waterfront
Whether you feel like enjoying a day on the beach of Lake Ontario or traveling along the scenic, 13 kilometre long, lakeside trail, the Whitby waterfront is charming in every way.
Sandy Beach
Iroquois Beach Park, located across from the Port Whitby Harbour, is a sandy beach with a lengthy shoreline, equipped with gorgeous views that go on for miles. Pack up a picnic lunch, a bag of beach toys, and experience the relaxing feeling of sand between your toes.
Waterfront Trails
Along with the beach, the 13 kilometre Whitby Waterfront Trail is off-road and paved, thanks to a generous grant from the Government of Ontario's PanAm Legacy Fund. The Whitby Waterfront Trail now travels through the Lynde Shores Conservation Area and is ideal for family cycling and hiking.
Lakeside Splash Pad
For an extra bit of fun, take your little ones to the Kiwanis Heydenshore Park splash pad to cool off from the summer sun. The splash pad is steps away from the water and the open patio picnic shelter offers spectacular views of the lake, idyllic for those looking for a perfect place to enjoy a sunny afternoon.
