Construction Updates

Piece by piece, we’re watching North Oak at Oakvillage take on new heights. 

The first crane for Tower A is up at North Oak! Check out our video below of the installation. 

The second crane for Tower B scheduled for erection in the next month. 

Perimeter waterproofing is underway while the excavator continues to dig down the site at the south end. Formwork has begun in the P3 level of the underground parking garage.

Coming soon – Geoexchange

We have started the geoexchange process at North Oak! 

Preliminary geothermal drilling was carried out involving drilling 800 ft. deep vertical closed-loop holes that provide a future “highway” for the piping to capture thermal ground energy. By using the constant temperature of the earth, the geoexchange system will provide efficient heating & cooling to North Oak towers. 

As footings progress, underground drains & geothermal piping beneath the building foundation will commence. 

We are thrilled to share the latest construction progress at our Oakvillage site. Here's a breakdown of the recent accomplishments: 

Oakvillage Phase 3   

Oakvillage Phase 3 project is making remarkable strides, and we are delighted to announce that we have successfully taken down our second and final crane, marking a significant milestone in the construction process.

Building E:

The ground floor of Building E has been completed, with all amenity areas now fully boarded. Additionally, we are pleased to inform you that all kitchen installations have been delivered, ensuring an essential aspect of the units is in place.

Building F:

The precast installation for Building F has been completed, and we are now in the final stages of the staining process, giving the building its distinctive appearance. On Level 9, the party terrace, along with the installation of planters and pavers, has been accomplished. Moreover, we are currently working on the ongoing green roof installation, which adds an environmentally friendly touch to the building.

Townhouses:

We are thrilled to share that all townhouse units have had their brick and stucco work completed. We're currently hard at work powering and energizing each unit. Once the power is up and running, the gas connection will be activated.

North Oak Condos at Oakvillage

Here are the latest updates on the North Oak, Oakvillage Phase 4, which is swiftly taking shape.

Tower A:

The construction of Tower A has reached the ground floor slab, signifying the beginning of vertical progress. Concurrently, mechanical, and electrical systems are being installed within the slab, ensuring the building's essential systems are integrated seamlessly.

Tower B:

Exciting news for Tower B as the crane has been erected, signifying the readiness for vertical construction. Moreover, waterproofing and footings have commenced, ensuring the building's foundation is well-protected and ready for further development.

Geoexchange:

We're excited to announce that the groundwork for the Geoexchange system is well underway! The construction of both underground geothermal piping and underground drains has commenced, setting the stage for a greener and more eco-friendly future. With this environmentally conscious initiative, we're paving the way for a brighter and more sustainable tomorrow.

Both Phase 3 and 4 continue to progress at our master-planned community in North Oakville as we head into the new year! Check out how this community is shaping up. 

Phase 3

The precast on Tower 1 is complete! Exterior wall framing and window installation is ongoing while electrical and mechanical is starting to be installed inside.  We will say goodbye to our crane later this month.

Tower 2 formwork is continuing while the precast is making its way up the tower. The window installation will start later this month. Our crane will come down at the end of March.

Our stacked townhomes are getting their final touches with brick cladding starting and window installation getting prepped. 

North Oak

Say hello to the Minto Communities crane at North Oak! Our team is pouring the base and will put the crane up later this month. The excavation and shoring continue to be well underway for Tower A & B at North Oak.

Our master-planned community, Oakvillage, is getting bigger and better! Phases 1 & 2 have been completed; we are excited to share some insights on the rest of the community. 

Phase 3

Stacked Townhomes

Excitingly, framing has begun so you’ll be able to start seeing the stacked townhomes take form. Look out for your new home!

Condos at Oakvillage 

The last floor of Tower 1 has been completed and we are ready to top off the roof! The mechanical & electrical work will follow shortly behind to get started as we near completion of precast & window install. 

Tower 2 formwork is just past the midpoint of this 20-storey tower. You will see the concrete form into a structural shape as you drive by. Mechanical & electrical will follow behind.  

North Oak 

Tower A & B

The excavation and shoring process is well underway for Tower A & B at North Oak. The shoring provides support for the excavation of the site by preventing the movement of the soil and supporting foundations. Look out for a Minto Communities crane posting up at the end of November. 

Tower 3

Tower 3 has just launched and is available to purchase. Learn more here. 

In the next few months, there will be a lot more activity occurring on-site for Phase 3. Look forward to hearing announcements about crane erections, underground drainage and parking level formwork!

Construction Activity and Developments for Phase 2 and Phase 3 at Oakvillage

Both Phase 2 and Phase 3 continue to progress and our team is excited to provide you with some insight as to the current construction status of both! 

Phase 2

Excavation is complete for 3 of the 4 blocks, which is the removal of earth, rocks and soil in the ground in order to create a hole. Currently the footings are being poured, this is an important part of the foundation process, as it is what supports the foundation and prevents settling. 

Excitingly, framing will begin in the next few weeks, which is when you’ll be able to start to see the structure form and take place! 

Phase 3

The excavation and shoring process is well underway for Phase 3 at Oakvillage. The shoring provides support for the excavation of the site by preventing movement of the soil and supporting foundations. 

In the next few months, there will be a lot more activity occurring on-site for Phase 3. Look forward to hearing announcements about crane erections, underground drainage and parking level formwork!
