Our ESG Commitment
As a resource-intensive industry, we know that every action we take impacts the environment. By minimizing waste, reducing water, and energy consumption, lowering carbon emissions, and investing in renewable energy and innovation, we act as responsible stewards of the environment - working hard to meet the highest possible standards.
As an employer, homebuilder, and landlord, we understand the deep responsibility we have to the people whose lives we touch. We start with prioritizing and investing in the needs of our employees and communities and then work on building safe and vibrant places for them to live and work.
Safeguarding the future of our business is in our DNA. By investing in effective governance, ethical practices, and infrastructure, we ensure that our business remains strong and resilient.
THE BENEFITS OF GREEN
Leaving the world better than we found it
To build on our legacy, we must continue to ask ourselves: How can we leave the world better than we found it? When we work together in our communities to live a more sustainable life, the benefits are something we can all enjoy.
Delivering the best for our customers
Minto uses third-party building validations to demonstrate that we’ve delivered a superior product, making our customers feel confident that we’re building with them in mind. A high performance home means higher energy and water efficiency, which translates into dollars saved on utilities. Our goal is to provide our customers with superior levels of comfort and well-being, while also helping to reduce environmental impact.
Since the end of 2017, we’ve certified over 5,000 units under various LEED® programs.
As of the end of 2017, over 10,000 Minto homes in Ontario are ENERGYSTAR® qualified.
EnerGuide is a national labeling program educating consumers on the level of efficiency of their homes and products.

It’s different for everyone. It could be learning how to go ‘zero-waste’ or reducing your energy consumption. It could also mean choosing to ride your bike to work or planting a garden in your backyard. Whatever you choose, going greener does the body (and planet) good.
