Ottawa, ON – April 29, 2011 – The recently released “Green 30” list identifies Canadian organizations, including The Minto Group, that have received high scores from their employees on their company’s environmental stewardship. The list details employers whose environmental strategies, activities and consideration of long and short-term environmental effects during their decision-making are recognized and supported by their employees.
Ottawa, ON – March 1, 2011 – The Minto Group made history closing on the single largest real estate transaction that London, Ontario has ever seen. The acquisition added 2,326 residential rental units in 13 apartment buildings, the 158,000 square foot Cherryhill Village Mall and the nearby 31,000 square foot medical building to Minto’s already substantial portfolio all at once.
ON – 2010 – The Minto Group has been named Ontario GREEN Builder of the Year by the Ontario Home Builders’ Association. Minto also received the prestigious award in 2008. “The 2010 Ontario GREEN Builder of the Year was presented to Minto Group of Ottawa/Toronto who clearly demonstrated that it is possible to take an enthusiastic environmental approach and apply it to all facets of their company.” OHBA press release.
ON – 2010 – The Minto Group's Minto Suite Hotel was honored with the Green Leadership award from Hotelier Magazine’s Top 100 Awards. The Green Leadership award is presented annually to recognize outstanding environmental excellence and innovation within Canada’s hospitality industry. Initiatives like the free Bike Share program, green committees, and outstanding energy savings, prove that Minto Suite Hotel is leading the way.
ON – 2010 – The Minto Group was honored as a finalist of the Corporate Environmental Excellence award presented by the GLOBE foundation. The GLOBE awards for Environmental Excellence are presented annually to extraordinary companies and industry groups who have managed to balance competitive business strategies and sustainable development. Previously, Minto was a finalist in the award category for Excellence in Urban Sustainability in 2006.
