Brent Strachan

Chief Operating Officer

President, Minto Communities – Ontario

As Minto Group's Chief Operating Officer (COO), Brent leads all national development operations, including the rental and homebuilding markets in Canada.

Brent began his career at Minto in 1999 on the land development team in Ottawa, overseeing design and entitlements for master-planned communities. He then shifted to the housing side as General Manager of the Design Centre and architecture teams, followed by an executive role as Vice President of Operations. Brent was responsible for leading Minto’s re-entry into the high-rise market in Ottawa as Vice President of High-Rise, with successful LEED Certified mixed-use projects including UpperWest, Beechwood, and the office and residential towers of Lansdowne.

In 2014, Brent assumed responsibility for all aspects of homebuilding operations in Ottawa, including both low-rise and high-rise, first as Senior Vice President, then Division President. In 2022, his role expanded to include oversight of Toronto development as Ontario President. Now as COO, Brent’s leadership includes all aspects of development operations in Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver – from land development to post-occupancy warranty.

Brent holds a bachelor’s degree in Survey Engineering from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University).
