Minto makes donation to Sun City Center Pickleball Club

Sun City Center, FL Minto Communities recently presented the Sun City Center Pickleball Club with a donation to help enhance the communitys popular Pickleball courts. According to Sun City Center Pickleball Club President Renee Bray, The club is very grateful to Minto for the generous donation.  We appreciate their interest in furthering the game of Pickleball in our community.  With the increasing popularity of the sport, we have outgrown our current capacity.  The donation will be used to expand current facilities for the club and Sun City Center resident use.

Several current Minto communities include Pickleball courts. In addition to Sun City Center, The Isles of Collier Preserve in Naples and LakePark at Tradition in Port St. Lucie have active Pickleball clubs. Minto also plans to include Pickleball courts in a number of its new Florida communities because of the rapidly growing popularity of the sport with active adults over age 55. Minto anticipated the growing popularity of this sport, and included Pickleball courts in our newest communities, notes Minto Senior Vice President William Bullock.

Minto recently served as the title sponsor of the first ever US Open Pickleball Championships (USOPC) in Naples, Florida. The 2016 USOPC was held in Naples last April, and will be held there in 2017 and 2018 with the anticipation that it will continue to be held in Naples as an annual event. According to USOPC founder and President Terri Graham, Sixty-eight percent of Pickleball players are over age 55 so there is a perfect correlation between our audience and Minto homebuyers.

Named by Where to Retire magazine as a member of the Hall of Fame of Best Master-Planned Communities, Sun City Center is known as one of the country’s premier active adult communities. Located between Tampa and Sarasota, Sun City Center is just 30 miles from the Gulf of Mexico and the world-renowned white sandy beaches of Treasure Island, St. Petersburg, Bradenton and Sarasota.

In the private, gated community of Verona at Sun City Center, Minto presents six villa floor plans and nine single-family floor plans. Villas range in size from 1,503 square feet to 1,862 square feet under air, and are priced from the $180s. Single-family homes, range in size from 1,683 square feet to 2,557 square feet under air, and are priced from the $200s. Eight fully furnished models are open daily for touring. While residents enjoy the unparalleled range of community amenities at Sun City Center, within Verona’s private, gated entrance, residents also enjoy their own resort-style pool and walking paths.

Minto developed Sun City Center using its own funding sources, electing not to utilize Community Development District (CDD) funds.  According to Senior Vice President William Bullock, When a developer uses CDDs, the cost of infrastructure improvements is passed on to the residents.  This fee shows up on the tax bill with average annual assessments ranging from $1,000 to $2,000 per year up to a maximum of 30 years. Minto didnt want to burden our residents with this.

The Sun City Center sales center is located at 105 Commercial Center Drive, Sun City Center, Florida. Sales center hours are Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For information, call 888-253-1567 or visit mintofla.com.
