Minto Communities sells last new home in Sun City Center

Sun City Center, FL — Minto Communities announces that the last new Minto home in historic Sun City Center has been sold. The community now has reached final build out.  Sun City Center, located near Tampa, Florida, is considered to be one of America’s most enduring and popular communities for those 55 and better.

Sun City Center has been named by Where to Retire magazine as a member of the Hall of Fame of Best Master-Planned Communities, and is known as one of the country’s premier active adult communities. Located near Tampa Bay, Florida, Sun City Center was opened in 1961 by the developer who also created Sun City retirement communities near Arizona and California. Over the decades, Sun City Center grew to become one of the leading retirement communities in the nation, receiving numerous accolades and capturing national headlines.

In 2010, Minto purchased the remaining buildable land in Sun City Center. Minto revamped the community’s entrance and landscaping, and proceeded to develop the neighborhoods of Somerset, Nottingham, Oakley Green, Richmond and Maplewood within Sun City Center’s Kings Point neighborhood, and Sienna, Calabria and Verona within Sun City Center’s Renaissance neighborhood. Minto has built a total of 718 villa, single-family and estate homes at Sun City Center.

Sun City Center offers an unparalleled range of community amenities, including four golf courses, miles of walking and biking trails, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, fitness and wellness centers, tennis and pickleball courts and a dog park. Luxurious clubs and spas, fine dining, and more than 200 social and activity clubs complete the panorama of social and lifestyle choices. Another unique aspect of life at Sun City Center is that residents can drive their golf carts on the streets.

According to Minto President Mike Belmont, "Minto has developed a very special relationship with Sun City Center's wonderful residents over the past eight years. We have sponsored and participated annually in the community’s WinterFest and community-wide golf cart parade. Minto is very proud to have been a significant part of Sun City Center’s more than 50-year history. Completing this outstanding master-planned community, and working with our Sun City Center home owners has been a rewarding and memorable experience.”

With the successful completion of Sun City Center, Minto now is introducing the next generation of 55+ communities in partnership with Margaritaville Holdings. LATITUDE MARGARITAVILLE is a new portfolio of active adult communities offering a Margaritaville-inspired lifestyle of fun, food and music for active adults who are growing older but not up. The communities feature a Town Center with resort-style pool, fitness center, arts and learning programs, live entertainment, signature Margaritaville food and beverage concepts, and more. Ranked the nation’s most popular active adult community of 2018 by 55Places.com, the first LATITUDE MARGARITAVILLE communities are now open in Daytona Beach, Florida and Hilton Head, South Carolina. Plans are underway for additional locations in some of the nation’s most popular destinations, including Watersound, Florida located in the Florida Panhandle.
