Minto Communities Announces Construction Progressing at The Isles of Collier Preserve
NAPLES, Fla. –Minto Communities announces that construction at The Isles of Collier Preserve is progressing for the community’s unveiling this season. The Isles of Collier Preserve is a 2,400-acre residential community that has dedicated more than half of its land to natural habitat and preserve. Preservation areas will be connected by a network of recreational trails, bike paths and waterways for kayaking.
Upon completion, residents and visitors to The Isles of Collier Preserve will experience a sense of discovery and adventure. Guests will pass under the gatehouse archway via a unique drive lane at the water level of a large reflecting pond. According to Minto’s Director of Community Planning Len Capozzo, the reflecting pond was inspired by various design elements seen at the Naples Botanical Garden.
A 140-foot bridge is under construction that will span the community’s Cypress Waterway. Inspired by the Collier Archway that spanned the Tamiami Trail in the 1930s, the new bridge reflects the shape and building materials of its predecessor as a salute to an important piece of Collier County history.
A 7,330-square-foot Discovery Sales Center also is under construction, and scheduled to open mid-November for preview tours. Its transitional Old Florida design includes coral stone walls and sweeping window expanses that reveal views of the community’s breathtaking natural surroundings. Other impressive features include a soaring 28-foot reception lobby entrance that serves as the hub of the building.
A stunning one-of-a-kind 14’ cypress tree replica entices visitors to enter the Neighbors Room to follow a circular boardwalk through a dramatic recreation of a natural cypress wetland. Along the boardwalk’s perimeter are museum-style exhibits on The Isles of Collier Preserve’s neighbors: Naples Botanical Garden, Rookery Bay Reserve, The Conservancy, Florida Gulf Coast University and Hamilton Harbor Yacht Club as well as area cultural organizations, including Bayshore Cultural and Performing Arts Center.
Plans call for approximately 1,600 residences to be situated on several lakes, waterways and scenic nature preserves. Minto is recognized as a leader in green construction. A variety of innovative, energy efficient home designs, including coach homes and single-family homes are designed to complement their natural surroundings. Model homes are scheduled to open in January 2014.
The Isles of Collier Preserve is contiguous to Hamilton Harbor Yacht Club, a full-service yacht club and marina. Memberships are available at Hamilton Harbor, a designated Clean Marina, featuring 160 acres of natural wetlands on the edge of Rookery Bay Reserve.
