Minto Communities Florida Begins Site Work at Former Sabal Bay and Renames Property The Isles of Collier Preserve

Naples, Florida — Minto Communities Florida announces that site work has begun at The Isles of Collier Preserve. Minto purchased the 2,400-acre former Sabal Bay site from Collier Enterprises, and closed on the property on December 27, 2012.  More than half of the property will be dedicated to natural habitat, nature preserve and miles of hiking, biking and kayaking trails.

Plans call for more than 1,600 residences that will look out onto waterfront, densely forested areas and other scenic nature preserve expanses. There will be a variety of home styles, sizes and innovative floor plans and designs available. An on-site Sales Center is slated to open in the fall of 2013, and energy-efficient model homes by Minto will be completed early in 2014.

According to Minto Communities Florida Vice President William Bullock, “Minto’s commitment is to be a good steward of this stunning and important land and its wildlife. We are honored to be part of the enduring legacy of this historic and spectacularly beautiful property as we embark on this significant endeavor to present a world-class community to our future residents.”

Overlooking a vast lake, river system and preserves, The Isles of Collier Preserve Resident’s Club will be the hub of social activities with gathering areas, resort-style swimming pool, tennis courts and a full complement of wellness facilities.

The Isles of Collier Preserve is located just minutes east of downtown Naples and the vibrant Fifth Avenue shopping and dining district. It is bordered on the south by Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, and on the north by the Naples Botanical Garden. It is contiguous to Hamilton Harbor Yacht Club, a full-service yacht club and marina, owned and operated by Collier Enterprises. Resident memberships are available at Hamilton Harbor, a designated Clean Marina, featuring 160 acres of natural wetlands on the edge of Rookery Bay Reserve.

According to Bullock, “Homebuilding is a great catalyst for the local economy and generates significant employment opportunities during construction and long after a community is completed. Minto is proud to be a force in getting people in the building industry back to work as we create this one-of-a-kind community in the heart of Naples.”

The following projections were prepared by Minto Communities, and are based on recent research by the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) and resulting formulas for estimating the economic impact of residential development.

Each new home generates 3.24 local jobs. The Isles of Collier Preserve phase one includes 172 homes and will generate an estimated 557 local jobs. Every 100 new homes generate $21.1 million in local income. The 1,600 planned homes at Isles of Collier Preserve will generate an estimated $337.6 million in local income during the construction cycle.

After construction, every 100 new homes generate 53 recurring local jobs. The recurring local income generated by The Isles of Collier Preserve is projected to exceed $50 million annually. In addition, plans for The Isles of Collier Preserve represent a significant increase in the Collier County tax base.
