October 25, 2005 - Today, Minto Suite Hotel, one of Ottawa’s prestigious CAA/AAA Four-Diamond hotels, celebrates the completion of a $15 million renovation with a grand re-opening reception.  Event planners, corporate travel coordinators and travel industry magnates will be on-hand for the unveiling of a chic, new look that takes hospitality to a new level of elegance and sophistication.

While it is common in the hospitality industry for hotels to refresh rooms and facilities every seven to eight years to remain competitive and attract new customers, Minto spared no expense in undertaking its colossal renovation.   The yearlong renovation began with refurbishing of all 417 suites, adjoining corridors and elevator landings; updating and adding conference rooms; enhancing the facility’s fitness centre; and finished with relocating the lobby to a street front from the second floor.

Upon entering the brand new lobby that boasts a vaulted three-story ceiling, guests are welcomed with a graceful waterfall, grand staircase and a striking blue acrylic chandelier.  As guests move beyond the lobby to the upper level, they are greeted with new conference and fitness facilities and freshly appointed corridors.  Throughout the hotel, walls are bathed in rich African hardwoods and grass cloth accented with elegantly appointed furnishings that invite travel-weary guests to relax and unwind.  Suite accoutrements such as fully equipped kitchens and baths provide all the comforts of home.  Minto continues to offer suites that are as practical for business executives as they are for families driving into town for a junior hockey tournament. And guests are pleased to find that they will pay the same price for a suite that competitors will charge for a room.
