Minto Communities set to launch of Phase II of the award-winning “The Heights of Harmony” master-planned community, offering flexible housing options for new homebuyers, growing families and multi-generational households

Located in North Oshawa’s Kedron neighbourhood, the Heights of Harmony community highlights Minto’s continued commitment to building well-designed and flexible homes in Durham Region - one of Canada’s fastest growing communities

September 4, 2023 (TORONTO, ON) – In anticipation of its official launch in September, Minto Communities shares details on the newest phase of their award-winning master-planned community, The Heights of Harmony. Phase II offers 168 thoughtfully designed townhomes to suit the diverse lifestyles, different life stages and preferences of families. Offering an array of flexible floorplans paired with a variety of architectural styles, Phase II continues Minto’s commitment to building well designed and adaptable homes in Durham Region—one of Canada’s fastest growing communities.

Situated just north of Phase I, The Heights of Harmony Phase II is located off Harmony Road North, with just a short drive away from Oshawa’s waterfront. Together, both phases span over 46-acres and mark Minto Communities’ second project in Oshawa. Drawing inspiration from the initial launch, Phase II offers new townhomes that foster a serene and idyllic environment, giving residents a sense of peaceful living while enjoying the convenience of urban amenities. A brand-new parkette will be introduced, continuing the strong sense of connection to nature for future residents for The Heights of Harmony community.

Emphasizing versatility and value, Phase II offers Back to Back townhomes and Rear Lane townhomes with flexible floorplans to accommodate different needs. Ideal for first time homebuyers and growing families, the Back to Back townhomes start in the $600s, and range from approximately 1,349 sq. ft. to 1,628 sq. ft., featuring two- and three-bedroom options with front car garages and spacious balconies. For larger families, the Real Lane townhomes start in the $800s and begin at 1,886 sq. ft., featuring front yards, double car garages and spacious driveways. Homebuyers have the opportunity to upgrade and select from curated flex plans to meet their needs, including the option to include ground-floor bedrooms and other adaptable features in select models.

“It was important for Minto Communities to support multi-generational housing options at a time where housing flexibility is in demand” says Vince Santino, Vice-President of Development, Minto Communities GTA. “With Phase I, we saw that flex options gave new homebuyers piece of mind when it came to meeting their current and future housing needs. With the launch of Phase II, our commitment to bringing these housing options to Durham Region continues. We have a strong pipeline of well-designed homes and look forward to bringing them to market, meeting population targets and growing this incredible community”.

Inspired by the rolling hills of the Kedron Farms, The Heights of Harmony community will blend a variety of architectural styles and materials, resulting in dynamic and visually appealing streetscapes. In Phase II, purchasers will have their selection of townhomes in different sizes and designs, including offerings in the Pine and Laurel collections, and choice between the Canadiana, Contemporary, and Modern Farmhouse elevations.

“Phase II truly exemplifies our commitment to innovative design and versatility" says Matthew Brown, Director of Product Development, Minto Communities GTA. “We take pride in creating homes that not only meet the needs of our homebuyers but exceed their expectations. With a focus on thoughtful floor plans, stunning architectural styles and standout community amenities, we aim to offer a living experience that supports the unprecedented growth taking place in the Durham region.”

Future residents of The Heights of Harmony Phase II will be able to take advantage of top-of-the-line sustainable features, including  ENERGY STAR ® for New Homes certification, enabling approximately 20% better energy efficiency. The townhomes will also feature a high performance envelope that will reduce heating and cooling needs, and provide a consistently comfortable temperature throughout the home.

The Heights of Harmony is a multi-phased master-planned community in North Oshawa’s Kedron neighbourhood that spans 97.5 acres and will have approximately 800 homes. The first sold-out phase broke ground earlier this summer and with the launch of Phase II, this new community is set to support the unprecedented growth in one of Canada’s fastest growing communities.

The Heights of Harmony was the recipient of the 2023 BILD Award for Project of the Year (Low-Rise) and the 2023 DRHBA’s Excellence in Semi-Detached or Townhomes under 2,000 sq.ft. Award, a testament to its exceptional quality and design.
