Alan and Roger Greenberg Honoured with FRPO Lifetime Achievement Award
Award recognizes brothers’ contribution to Ontario’s residential rental industry in their former roles as President of Minto Properties Inc. and CEO of The Minto Group
Ottawa, ON (December 4, 2015) – The Minto Group’s Alan and Roger Greenberg were honoured for their contributions to the Ontario rental industry with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Federation of Rental-housing Providers of Ontario’s (FRPO) MAC Awards Gala on Thursday, December 3rd. The gala celebrates business leadership in the residential housing industry.
Since Roger took over Minto’s helm in 1991 as CEO of The Minto Group, and Alan later assumed the position of President of Minto’s multi-residential business (now Minto Properties), the two men have grown the Greenberg family’s legacy with industry-leading work in the areas of sustainability, customer service and community involvement in Canada’s residential housing industry. Their commitment has had a tremendous impact on providing better housing options for Ontarians.
“An award like this is really not one for the family; it is one for the organization as a whole,” says Roger Greenberg, now Executive Chair of Minto’s Board of Directors. “This year is the 60th year of our business, and this honour encourages us to continue our focus on always doing what’s right – for our business, our employees and our communities.”
Under Alan’s leadership, Minto Properties built a stronger focus on customer service and championed support for the Certified Rental Building (CRB) program, which helped to enforce higher standards and a customer-centered approach within the multi-residential industry. Alan and Roger made Minto an early industry leader in sustainability through many initiatives, including those that helped retrofit existing multi-residential buildings to achieve higher environmental targets and standards.
Community involvement has always been highly valued by Alan, Roger and the Greenberg family and is part of their commitment to providing better places for people to live, work and play. Their tradition of giving back to support healthy communities continues through sponsorship of institutions and charitable organizations across Ontario.
