Minto Communities appoints Overlook Bar & Grill chef and general manager

NAPLES, FL (Jan. 28, 2019) — New restaurant for residents at The Isles of Collier Preserve in Naples to open soon

Minto Communities announces staff appointments for their new Overlook Bar & Grill restaurant at The Isles of Collier Preserve in Naples. Sally Yu has been named executive chef and Valeri Acierno has been named food & beverage manager of the new free-standing restaurant for residents of The Isles of Collier Preserve and their guests.

Chef Yu moved to Naples from San Diego where she grew up in a family of restaurateurs. She opened her first restaurant at age 21, and has worked with celebrity chefs including Food Network’s Susan Fenigar, Bravo’s Top Chef Brian Malarkey, noted French Chef Hubert Keller and others. She also served as one of a four chef culinary team that traveled the world with Cirque du Soleil’s touring show, Totem, and as chef for Cirque du Soleil’s Amaluna Tour.

Acierno, a Naples resident, has worked in all aspects of restaurant operations. She most recently served as general manager of 7th Avenue Social, a downtown Naples restaurant.

The rustic Overlook Bar & Grill waterfront restaurant overlooks the picturesque Cypress Waterway at The Isles of Collier Preserve. It includes indoor and outdoor dining, and accommodates seating for up to 100 diners. Features include a large u-shaped bar and screened deck with spectacular views of the waterway.

According to Chef Yu, "We want to make our residents and their guests feel at home here. Everything will be made from scratch. We are featuring locally sourced ingredients and seafood, grill specialties and more. We also will have gluten free and Keto-friendly (Ketogenic diet) options. In addition, we are presenting Overlook Bar & Grill-branded salad dressing, coffee and craft beer, and will offer hand crafted cocktails and a full wine list."

The Isles of Collier Preserve is located just four miles east of downtown Naples on U.S. 41/Tamiami Trail East. The Discovery Sales Center is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sixteen fully furnished models are open for viewing.
