Taking inspiration from Stittsville's past while looking to the future

The community honours its past and looks ahead to a promising future. As a name, “Abbott’s Run” reflects a sense of growth. It pays homage to the H.H. Abbott, the first steam train to pass through Stittsville in 1870. During operation, it played a vital role in supporting residents and growing the economy. Today, the expanding LRT continues the tradition.

The train inspired the community logo, too, with a design featuring two sets of overlapping railway tracks. One symbolizes the original rail line and the other represents the new line. While the arching tracks come together to form an “A” and create the subtle shape of a home.
