Woman shopping for groceries in Orléans, Ottawa. Reasons to live in Avalon

Whether you're back to school shopping for the kids, looking to indulge in a bit of retail therapy, or spending an evening at the movies, Orléans has you covered. The Shops of Tenth Line Road are within walking distance and are home to endless conveniences to scratch that shopping itch. These shopping centres are new and rapidly growing to bring the essentials you need including banks, grocery stores, pharmacies, coffee shops, and restaurants.

1. Shop till you drop

Minutes away at Innes Road and Mer-Bleue Road, shopaholics will be excited to find Winners, HomeSense, Best Buy, Walmart, Michaels, and The Shoe Company. Treat yourself to a day strolling through the shops in Place d'Orléans mall located at Place d'Orléans Drive. This shopping centre is one of Ottawa's best and features over 175 stores to keep you busy all day.

2. Endless dining options

Unwind after a long afternoon and set those shopping bags down at any one of the excellent casual dining and family-friendly restaurants on Innes Road. Moxie's Grill & Bar, Boston Pizza, Montana's, and Mandarin are some of Orléans' favourite destinations with an inviting atmosphere for hot meals and cold drinks. For local fare, don't miss the Clocktower Pub and OCCO Kitchen — there's craft beer on tap and unique, and delicious, menu items.

3. An evening at the movies

Looking for some evening entertainment? Head over to Orléans Landmark Cinemas on Innes Road. This 10 screen theatre is the only one of its kind in Ottawa to feature the Landmark Cinema Extra Experience: wall-to-wall, wrap-around screens delivering high impact 3D projection and dynamic sound. A trip to Landmark Cinemas is the perfect end to a dinner date or shopping spree. Don't forget Kid's Day when kids 13 and under get a special ticket and snack prices every Sunday.
