A New Minto Community is Coming to Kanata

You heard it here first: a new Minto community is coming to Kanata.

Launching in 2021, the new community, officially named Brookline, will be located on March Road, minutes from our Morgan’s Creek community, Ottawa’s bustling tech hub and all of Kanata’s amenities and natural assets. Homes will be built in two phases, with a mix of Single Family Homes and Townhomes.

If you’re interested in getting updates on the community, register here today. In the meantime, let’s take a look at the neighbourhood.

New Brookline community coming soon in 2021

A Globally Recognized Tech Sector

Whether you’re currently working in high-tech or considering a new career, Kanata is the place to be. In the ‘90s, it was considered the Silicon Valley of the North. Since then, the area has nearly tripled its residents and continues to be one of Canada’s most successful technology hotspots.

Companies operating in Kanata technology sector have been making a difference for decades, and technology professionals from across the country have flocked here to provide their expertise to sub-sectors like telecommunications, medical sciences, defence, security, data management and more. As of 2018, Kanata was responsible for contributing $13B to Canada’s GDP, and employed 20,000 more people than it did just three years prior.

In short, this area of Kanata is a thriving, economic powerhouse, and it shows no signs of dwindling. More than 540 companies operate here, including Mitel, Avaya, Ericsson, Trend Micro, Canopy Growth, Pleora, Skyworks Solutions, Nanometrics and so many more.

Plenty of schools nearby

In addition to its proximity to Ottawa’s buzzing technology hub, our new Kanata community will be ideally situated near an abundance of schools. Institutions from all four school boards can be easily accessed on both sides of the 417. Nearby schools include West Carleton Secondary School, South March Public School, École Publique Julie-Payette, Georges Vanier Catholic School and All Saints High School.

Each of the four boards’ websites has a school locator so you can best determine the closest school(s) to your new home and which school(s) might be designated for your child or children.

Necessities, nature and needful things.

Our new community will bring the best of Kanata within minutes of your doorstep, giving you quick access to the 417, the Canadian Tire Centre and several amenities and essentials such as Sobeys, the LCBO, Goodlife Fitness, the Barley Mow, Tanger Outlets, Kanata Centrum and more.

And did we mention the green space? The new community will also be near Shirley’s Brook and plenty of additional, surrounding parks. For hikers and cyclists, the area is also home to the South March Highlands Conservation Forest, which offers a trail network suitable for all skill levels. The forest is also frequented by bird watchers and is a great place to walk the family dog.
