Minto Communities Sells Out Ivy Ridge Community in Whitby

Minto Communities GTA is celebrating a turning point for their Ivy Ridge project in Whitby, announcing that the new master-planned subdivision at Thickson Road and Dryden Boulevard has sold out all of its homes as the community welcomes its first wave of residents. The collection of 371 homes launched with an initial phase in 2017, with the remaining homes quickly selling out in two subsequent phases. The latest milestone was aided by the completion and opening of a pair of professionally-finished and furnished model homes several weeks ago.

The project includes a mix of single-family and townhomes in a range of styles by RN Design and sizes, all of which are targeting ENERGY STAR for New Homes Certification.

In addition to building much-needed housing stock for a growing region, the project also brought new infrastructure to the area, with Minto building the Dryden Bridge overpass and a new intersection with traffic lights, all of which completed a gap in this major collector road in Whitby. Minto also completed the building of a pond over a period of almost three years, to provide stormwater management and green space for this area of Whitby.

The sold-out milestone is the latest for the project, which earlier this year was recognized at the 2020 Durham Region Home Builders' Association (DRHBA) Awards of Excellence, winning Excellence in Back to Back Townhome, Excellence in Single (2,001-3,000 ft²), and Excellence in Single (3,001-4,000 ft²). Minto Communities also took home the Corporate Citizenship award, awarded in recognition of a developer "that has gone above and beyond to support their local community."
