Sustainability at The International
Sustainability isn’t just about being environmentally conscious. It’s about the actions we take to invest in building a sustainable future by consuming fewer natural resources, minimizing waste and reducing greenhouse emissions, while providing modern spaces to live, work and play in. It’s our priority today – and it will continue to be in the future.
By installing low flow water fixtures we’ll save 9 Olympic-size swimming pools of water and 34 tonnes of carbon dioxide. That’s equivalent to taking 7 cars off the road.
The replacement of the hot water boiler and cold water booster systems saves 159,238 cubic metres of natural gas and 144 carbon tonnes of electricity – equal to taking 96 cars off the road.
To conserve energy, all suite and corridor fixtures have been retrofitted with LED bulbs, saving 146,260 kWh of electricity and 132 tonnes of carbon dioxide (equivalent to 28 cars).
We choose low VOC paints, adhesives, and carpets to create healthier spaces. Bicycles get their own parking spaces, too.
