Minto has an excellent track record of adhering to closing dates because we know how anxious you are to move into your new home in Ottawa, and how many arrangements your family must make to prepare for a move. While we plan for contingencies in our construction schedule, some unforeseen circumstances may force us to adjust your closing date. Some of these factors may include:
- Delays in obtaining City permits or inspection approvals
- Skilled labour shortages – we have lasting relationships with some of the finest Trade Partners in the City and while their crews may be busy with other projects, we would rather wait until they can work with us, than take on a new and untested trade that has not yet learned about our policies, product design and the standards of quality and workmanship that we expect from them.
- Weather – excessive rain, snow or severe cold can hinder construction progress
Whenever we must adjust a closing date, we provide adequate notice to the homeowner, as per the Tarion Warranty Corporation’s closing delay guidelines. Please visit www.tarion.com for more information.
