Your Minto Design Centre appointments
At the time of purchasing your new home in Ottawa, your first appointment was scheduled for you to meet with one of our Design Consultants. Depending on the stage of construction of your home, and the amount of personal choices you wish to make, this may be the first of a few appointments you will need to finalize your selections. You should expect each appointment to take about two hours.
We recommend you arrange for a babysitter during your appointments - you may feel like a kid in a candy store among all those samples of plush carpeting and rich hardwoods, but it's not much fun for your little ones. We also suggest that you limit the amount of people coming to the appointment - your Design Consultant's office can comfortably accommodate 2-3 adults.
It is important that you actively participate in the selecting and documentation of options, personal selections, and changes to your new home. The document which initiates your changes is called a Form IV and is processed by your Design Consultant.
All selections documented on your Form IV's must be authorized and paid for at the completion of each stage, so please ensure you are properly prepared to make final decisions at these appointments.

What's a "Cut-Off Date"?
Throughout the construction of your new Ottawa home, we have predetermined three, specific "cut-off" dates - structural, framing and colour cut-offs. Each of these cut-offs represent the date that we need to have your selections finalized, and your approval on any revised architectural drawings that were required as a result of your selection.
Please note that these cut-off dates could change, as a result of a change to our overall construction schedule (due to weather, skilled labour availability, etc.).
After each cut-off date, we begin ordering the required materials for your home and issuing drawings to the appropriate trade partners.
Your Design Consultant will inform you of your cut-off dates, and your Design Centre appointments will be scheduled with these dates in mind. Please note however that once you authorize an option or upgrade, you cannot cancel this selection, regardless of whether your cut-off date has passed or not.
