Minto Donates $500,000 US to Disaster Relief in the wake of Hurricane Katrina
September 7, 2005
September 7, 2005 – Roger Greenberg, Chairman and CEO of Minto Developments Inc., announced a donation of $500,000 US to assist with disaster relief following last week's devastating Hurricane Katrina. Minto, a multi-faceted real estate development company headquartered in Ottawa, Canada also has operations in Toronto and is one of South Florida's premier developer/builders.
Minto's gift will be spread over a number of charities such as the American Red Cross, the Bush/Clinton Katrina Fund and other humanitarian organizations to aid victims in the states affected by last week's hurricane.
According to Greenberg, "Geography may limit what Minto, as a business, and we, as individuals, can physically do to ease the burden of residents in the affected areas. Nonetheless, we feel it is our corporate responsibility to help provide much-needed dollars to help finance the relief efforts. It is the least we can do."
